The Germans have kept a clean sheet in back-to-back matches at home

Germany flattered to deceive, hosing the 2024 editions of the UEFA Euros with a good run going through the group stages undefeated, only to fall to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of eventual champions Spain, in the quarter-finals.

It is the first time the players are gathering since that unfortunate outing, and they will be eager to put that behind them in their first game of the group.

Coincidentally, both teams were in the same group in the 2022/23 edition of the Nations League, with Germany coming in third and Hungary finishing ahead of them in second place.

Germany has to be wary of the threat Hungary will pose, seeing that the visitors took four points off of them in that edition of the Nations League.

Joshua Kimmich, the newly appointed captain, must inspire the German national team to begin their Nation League campaign on a high.

Germany vs Hungary Prediction
Hungary have never been scared of taking the game to any of the stronger opponents they have faced in recent times, Germany included.

Recent head-to-head records between these teams paint the picture, with Hungary winning one game and forcing Germany to draw twice in their last five meetings.
