Stuttgart have a good recent record against FC Augsburg and have won 12 out of the last 24 matches

VfB Stuttgart travel to Augsburg for a Friday night Bundesliga fixture as they look to maintain their recent good form. Augsburg have been out of sorts lately and should be no match for a Stuttgart side playing with confidence at the moment.

With little to play for at the moment, Augsburg’s season appears effectively over as they seem to just be going through the motions. They were thrashed 5-1 at Borussia Dortmund last time out, their fourth defeat in the last five matches.

Friday’s clash being their last home fixture of the season, Augsburg will be keen to end things on a high. Jess Thorup’s men have lost just once in their last seven home matches, although that defeat came in their previous fixture at WWK Arena as they were beaten 3-0 by Werder Bremen.

Stuttgart were in fine form in their previous Bundesliga fixture as they claimed a 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich. Sitting two points off second place, they will be looking to leapfrog the Bavarians, which appear to be distracted by the Champions League.

Sebastian Hoeness’ men have a decent record on their travels, winning four of their last six away matches. However, they often struggle at the back, conceding four goals in their last two fixtures on the road.

Augsburg have no new injury problems and may stick to the team that featured at Dortmund. Stuttgart could make a few changes with midfielder Jeong Woo-Yeong likely to be handed a start after scoring off the bench last time out.
