Paris Saint-Germain are aiming to return to winning ways in the Champions League as they face Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven in the French capital on Tuesday night.
Luis Enrique’s side edged past Girona to open their league phase account but were brushed aside by the physically superior Arsenal last time out to leave them with three points after two matchdays.
PSG’s defeat at the Emirates exposed their youth and the stage of their transition in the absence of Kylian Mbappe. They’re still some way off where Enrique wants them to be, but they’ve continued to show plenty of positive signs domestically.
The capital club head into Tuesday’s game having dispatched a good Strasbourg side 4-2 in Ligue 1 on Saturday. PSG, like PSV, lead their domestic league but the likes of Monaco and Marseille are also competing fiercely at the summit.
While the French side have a couple of blemishes on their record, PSV have been perfect in the Eredivisie after coasting to the title under Peter Bosz last season.
They’re nine for nine in the Dutch top flight but have mustered just a point from their opening two Champions League games.
