One more defeat would make this Roma’s worst season start in 20 years.
The Giallorossi have been alternating all possible results lately, with their last 10 consisting of three wins, three draws, and four defeats. Roma have not won two games in a row since April this year when they beat Milan twice in the Europa League.
The last few weeks have been the most difficult yet, with two huge blows in Seria A with 3-2 to Verona and 5-1 to Fiorentina. Their only positive is that they won three of their last four home games, so playing at Stadio Olimpico seems to be their best hope to win.
Bologna finally reminded us why they finished in Top 4 last season, winning back-to-back games in Serie A against Lecce and Cagliari. These wins ended their unprecedented streak of six draws in a row in the league.
They are an unusual case but the positive side is that they only lost once in the domestic league so far and currently sit above Roma in the table.
Despite their recent finish among the four best, Bologna hardly qualifies as a top team, but they have been one of Roma’s toughest rivals.
The team from the Eternal City has only four wins against Bologna in the last 10 H2Hs, while the visitors also scored four wins. More importantly, Bologna won the last two from the previous campaign, including a 2-0 at home and a 1-3 away.
