Newcastle host Tottenham in one of the most interesting games of Matchday No 3 in English Premier League on Sunday afternoon at St. James’ Park.
The Magpies did not open the season in the most promising of fashions despite collecting four points from the inaugural two games.
Eddie Howe’s men have scored just twice in the process despite facing the likes of Southampton and Bournemouth along the way.
Newcastle did not look good in mid-week’s Carabao Cup tie with Nottingham Forest either although Howe used pretty much most of his starters at The City Ground.
On the other side, Tottenham left a much better impression from their inaugural two outings despite claiming four points themselves as well.
Spurs completely outplayed both Leicester and Everton in the maiden two games but they got unlucky to register only a 1-1 draw at King Power Stadium on the opening day.
Heung-Min Son starred last weekend as his brace inspired the team’s 4-0 drubbing of Everton in North London.
Newcastle vs Tottenham Prediction
Both Newcastle and Tottenham possess a strong firepower on display in the final third and we should see goals when they come across each other at St. James’ Park.
Both outfits are suspect defensively, particularly Newcastle who looked surprisingly leaky at the back against both Southampton (they were one player down for most part of that game) and Bournemouth.
Newcastle will rely on tradition as they’ve put ten goals past Tottenham in the last two H2H affairs at St. James’ Park.
