Manchester City are looking to maintain their perfect record at the start of the 2024/25

Manchester City are looking to maintain their perfect record at the start of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign this weekend.

The Citizens host Brentford on Saturday afternoon in Matchday No 4 just four days before facing Inter Milan at the beginning of the new Champions League campaign.

Pep Guardiola can be thrilled with Erling Haaland’s form as the Norwegian superstar has already bagged seven goals in the opening three matches of the season.

He has completed back-to-back hat-tricks in the last two rounds. His three goals made the difference in a 3-1 victory at West Ham in the previous Matchday.

Brentford will also enter this on a high, following a 3-1 success against Southampton in the previous round.

Bryan Mbeumo completely accepted the talisman role in the absence of Ivan Toney who made a move to Saudi Arabia in the summer transfer window.

Mbeumo delivered a brace last time out against Southampton and he will represent the biggest threat to Man City’s goal this weekend against in-form Yoanne Wissa.

Manchester City vs Brentford Prediction
No team have scored more than Manchester City’s nine goals in the inaugural three rounds of the new season.

That said, the Citizens did concede in both of their successive wins over Ipswich and West Ham in the previous two matches.

They are now up against Brentford who found three goals against Southampton last time out.

The Bees have also scored in three of the previous four head-to-head encounters with Manchester City.
