Mallorca have lately enjoyed it in this fixture and will be hope for a third straight win

Mallorca will host Girona at Son Moix Stadium on Saturday in a mid-table La Liga clash. Both sides are looking to secure European places this season and a win could help them massively in that pursuit.

Mallorca are eighth in the league table after 17 games with seven wins, seven defeats, and three draws. They are level on points with Real Sociedad (6th) and Osasuna (7th) and just two points behind Villarreal (5th). Hence, a win could help them stay in the race for European slots.

Girona are also in the same race and sits just two points behind Mallorca in ninth with a game in hand. They qualified for the Champions League last season but have won just once in six games and are likely to get eliminated.

They will look to turn all their attention to the league and finish as high as possible. They have six wins, six defeats, and four draws.

Hence, a win for either side could give them a massive boost in their pursuit of European places and give them an edge over the other.

Mallorca will be without Antonio Raillo due to his suspension after he received a red card against Celta Vigo last time out. Meanwhile, Toni Lato is out due to an injury.

Girona also have a player suspended for Saturday’s clash, with Ladislav Krejci accumulating five yellow cards. Meanwhile, Bojan Miovski, Viktor Tsigankov, and Yangel Herrera are all out injured.
