Lando Norris clinched pole for the Italian Grand Prix, beating team-mate Oscar Piastri by a tenth of a second.
Mercedes driver George Russell rounded out the top three at Monza, whilst Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz completed the top five.
There were no surprise early exits, with the eight leading drivers from the top four teams safely making it through to the third and final section of qualifying.
Collectively, they will occupy the first four rows of the grid for Sunday’s race. Williams driver Alexander Albon and Haas’ Nico Hulkenberg completed the top 10.
Both Piastri and Max Verstappen have been called to see the stewards for a potential unsafe release by McLaren in Q2.
Likewise, Sainz will be investigated for a similar incident with the Red Bull in Q3.
