Having won all eight of their games so far this season across all competitions, Bayern Munich will be determined to extend their impressive streak when they visit Cypriotic side Pafos FC in their second Champions League game this season on Tuesday.

Fresh off a dominant 4-0 Bundesliga victory over Werder Bremen, the German champions head into the clash as heavy favorites.

Pafos FC prepare for a historic night as they welcome Bayern Munich to the Alphamega Stadium on 1st October for the second matchday of the UEFA Champions League league phase. The Cypriot champions earned their place in this stage after a successful qualifying campaign and carry the hopes of their supporters into a contest that few expected only a year ago.

After a goalless draw against Olympiacos in their opening fixture, they bring momentum from three consecutive league wins. The latest was a 2-1 victory over Olympiakos Nicosia.

Bayern Munich arrive with their confidence high after sweeping through their early-season matches. The German champions top the Bundesliga with five wins from five.

They even showed authority in Europe with a 3-1 victory over Chelsea on 18 September. With Harry Kane leading the attack and Luis Díaz driving the play, Bayern present one of the hardest challenges Pafos could face.

The Alphamega Stadium, which holds 10,830 fans, will provide an intense atmosphere for a fixture that tests the resolve of the Cypriot side against a European giant.

Harry Kane will certainly be hard to stop in his current form, with the England captain having found the net 15 times in just eight games this season following his brace against Werder.

Pafos can take heart from the fact that they’re unbeaten in their last four, as their 0-0 draw with Olympiacos in their Champions League opener has been followed by three domestic wins.

It’s clear, however, that Tuesday’s opponents are of a different calibre, and anything less than three points for the visitors would be a major surprise.

Team news and predicted lineups:

Pafos will be without Brazilian defender Bruno, who is suspended after seeing red against Olympiacos.

Alphonso Davies (knee), Hiroki Ito (foot), Jamal Musiala (ankle), Josip Stanišić (knee), and Jonas Urbig (groin) are still out for Bayern.
