The Egyptian team produced a strong performance during the game as they took the lead until the 82 nd minute, thanks to Mahmoud Saber who scored Egypt’s only goal in the 61 st minute but Philippe Mateta leveled the score, eight minutes from time.
The game went to extra-time which saw the hosts add the second in the 99 th minute, while Michael Olise netted the third in the 107 th minute.
Egypt defender Omar Fayed was sent off in the 92 nd minute after receiving two yellow cards.
The Egypt U-23 team will face Morocco in the game for the bronze medal on Thursday.
