England will look to make it three wins in a row in the Nations League and confirm their promotion to League A when they host Ireland in their next match on Sunday.
The Three Lions followed up their 3-1 victory over Finland with another convincing 3-0 win over Greece despite missing many key players and skipper Harry Kane starting on the bench.
On the other hand, Ireland bounced back to winning ways with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Finland in their last match thanks to Brighton striker Evan Ferguson’s solitary goal and Caoimhin Kelleher’s penalty save.
Lee Carsley will look to end his final match as interim coach on a strong note, therefore, there shouldn’t be too many changes from the team that started against Greece.
Ezri Konsa is doubtful after being subbed off at half-time against Greece due to an injury. His replacement Lewis Hall impressed in his first appearance for England and he should start against Ireland.
Many were surprised to see skipper Harry Kane benched in the all-important clash with Greece, however, Ollie Watkins justified his selection with a goal. However, Kane should return to the starting lineup against Ireland.
England predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Pickford (GK) — Lewis, Walker, Guehi, Hall — Gallagher, Jones— Madueke, Bellingham, Gordon — Kane.
Ireland come into this game without the likes of Seamus Coleman, Shane Duffy, and Adam Idah who are all dealing with different injury concerns. Additionally, Jason Knight will miss this match through suspension after receiving his second yellow card of the group stage against Finland.
Evan Ferguson should start with Sammie Szmodics in front after his impressive performance against Finland last time out.
Ireland predicted XI (4-4-2, right to left): Kelleher (GK) — Doherty, Collins, Scales, O’Dowda — McAteer, Cullen, Knight, Johnston — Szmodics, Ferguson.
