England captain Harry Kane will be looking to make history when Bayern Munich face Werder Bremen live on the BBC on Friday.

Kane, 32, has scored 98 goals for Bayern in 103 matches as he closes in on a record set by Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland.

They reached their century of goals – for Real Madrid and Manchester City respectively – in 105 matches, so Kane will beat the mark for clubs in Europe’s top five leagues with two goals on Friday.

Bayern are looking to continue their perfect start to the season as they host mid-table opponents in a game that will kick off at 19:30 BST.

Bayern have won their past seven matches in all competitions, and have not lost in the Bundesliga since 8 March 2025 – a 3-2 home defeat by Bochum.

Bayern have scored 18 goals in the Bundesliga and only conceded three. They are the only team to win all their matches in the league this season.

Vincent Kompany has also evolved the German’s side frontline is his three seasons in charge, bringing in Kane in his first season, Michael Olise in his second, and Luis Diaz this season.

Werder Bremen have had a mixed start to the season. In their second match, Bremen managed to come back from 3-1 down with ten men to draw at home 3-3 in Erik ten Hag’s last game in charge of Bayer Leverkusen. They lost their opening match away at Eintracht Frankfurt 4-1.

They added to their first point of the season with an away win at Borussia Monchengladbach where they put four past the league strugglers but then lost 3-0 to Freiburg last time out.

Kane has already scored eight goals in four appearances this season, including two hat-tricks. The England skipper also made history in the Bundesliga on Saturday as he became the first player to convert 17 spot-kicks without missing.

Despite Kane’s eight goals this season, Olise has had more shots than any other player in the Bundesliga. The right-winger has three goals and an assist to his name so far.

Werder Bremen’s Romano Schmid already has two goals this season, both of which were penalties. The Austrian is already on track to beat last year’s tally of five goals.
