Egnatia of Rrogozhina has not managed to pass Borci of Banjaluka and has been eliminated in the first qualifying round of the Champions League.
The return match held on Wednesday night at “Elbasan Arena” ended with the result 2:1. In the sequel, there were no goals and the Albanian champion was defeated on penalties 4:1.
In the 12th minute, the Italian referee Fabio Maresca stopped the match for a few minutes after the calls of the fans.
Just four minutes later, Egnatia took the lead.
The good action built in the goal was concretized by the Turkish Melih Ibrahimoglu, with an accurate shot from the area.
After half an hour of play, the visiting team equalized with Jovo Lukic.
The attacker from the Ivory Coast, Lorougnon Doukouo, put Egnatia in the lead again, 2:1, with a goal in the 82nd minute.
There were no further goals.
Borci won the first match in Banjaluka, the capital of Republika Srpska in Bosnia-Herzegovina, 1:0, with a goal in the 96th minute.
In that match, there were numerous anti-Kosovo chants, starting in the 66th minute.
Egnatia continues its European adventure in the second qualifying round of the Conference League, where it will face Iceland’s Vikingur.
