Champions League finalists will begin the new Bundesliga season with the home clash against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday afternoon at Signal-Iduna-Park.
Borussia Dortmund have changed their squad dramatically in between the two seasons. They let go of Niclas Fullkrug, Ian Maatsen, Mats Hummels, Jadon Sancho, and head coach Edin Terzic.
The new arrivals are exciting, namely Stuttgart’s talisman Serhou Guirassy. Nevertheless, new manager Nuri Sahin will need some time to bed in the likes of Maximilian Beier, Waldemar Anton, Pascal Gross, and Yan Couto among others.
Dortmund looked great in recent matches, winning three on the spin ahead of this tie against Frankfurt.
Eintracht were also impressive last weekend, beating Braunschweig 4-1 on the road in the first round of the DFB Pokal.
Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction
Borussia Dortmund have won each of the last three home fixtures against Eintracht Frankfurt, netting twelve goals in the process.
They head into this on the back of three subsequent wins, including an impressive display in a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa in the final pre-season exhibition two weeks ago.
Frankfurt have also been strong in the pre-season with six wins in seven matches this summer. Nonetheless, they haven’t faced many strong opponents in the process.
The lone tough rival came in the likes of Valencia and that was the match that Frankfurt lost 2-3 two weeks ago on Spanish soil.
