Chelsea will play their second London derby in just three days

Chelsea will play their second London derby in just three days on Sunday afternoon. They host West Ham in Matchday No 36 at Stamford Bridge.

The teams sit right next to each other in the top half of the standings but Chelsea have shown a much better form in April. Can the Blues get the win in the penultimate home match of the season?

Chelsea won five and drew one of the last six home outings across competitions. West Ham shipped five goals in the previous away match at Palace.

The Hammers allowed at least two goals in each of the last four league fixtures.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men somehow grabbed a point from Villa Park last weekend in a thrilling 2-2 stalemate against Aston Villa. The Argentinean manager can be satisfied with his side’s attacking rhythm. The problems appear at the back, though. Chelsea shipped two or more goals in nine of the previous eleven outings across competitions.

West Ham’s back line has not been any better of late either. The Hammers allowed seven goals in the last two league clashes against Crystal Palace and Liverpool. The 2-2 draw to Liverpool marked their fifth consecutive game without a win across competitions.

Chelsea vs West Ham Prediction
Everything points towards a high-scoring scenario on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. Neither outfit have shown the capability to defend in recent weeks. Chelsea won five and drew one of the last six home outings across competitions but they have shipped at least two goals in five of these six matches.

West Ham have some in-form attackers as well in the likes of Michael Antonio and Jarrod Bowen. They are very much capable of producing up front against such a leaky defence. In these circumstances, we just can’t see a clean sheet for either side.

Since Chelsea have managed such an impressive streak of five wins and a draw in the previous six home affairs, we also fancy them to claim the spoils here. Home win & Both Teams To Score is the standout betting option at the 2.75 odds.
