Borussia are unbeaten in 10 subsequent home outings in the Champions League

Borussia Dortmund host PSG in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday evening at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK.

Group F deservedly carried the “group of death” tag in this term of Champions League. Borussia Dortmund and PSG advanced as the top two outfits in the section.

These two teams will now cross each other’s paths once again. The stakes will be much higher this time around as a place in the ultimate game of Europe’s primary tournament is up for grabs.

PSG made it this far after a big comeback in the quarter-final matchup against Barcelona. Luis Enrique’s men lost the first game 2-3 on the home patch but only to respond via a 4-1 road win in the return outing on Spanish soil.

The Parisians got help by Ronald Araujo who got sent off early in the first half for a careless last-man tackle on Bradley Barcola.

Many experts considered Borussia serious underdogs in both the group stage and the quarter-final matchup against Atletico Madrid.

The German outfit defied the odds. They topped their respective section and went past Atletico Madrid 5-4 on aggregate courtesy of a 4-2 victory in the return game on the home turf.

PSG took four points from the two clashes against Borussia Dortmund in the group stage of the competition. However, PSG are winless in the previous three visits to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. Two of these three affairs ended in draws.

Only one of the last six head-to-head outings between these rivals saw three or more goals scored. Borussia are unbeaten in 10 subsequent home outings in the Champions League.

PSG lost two and drew one of three group stage matches on the road in this term of the Champions League. Five of the previous six head-to-head meetings between these rivals finished with fewer than three goals scored.
