Bayer Leverkusen are undefeated in their last six league games against Wolfsburg

VfL Wolfsburg are all set to host Xabi Alonso’s Bayer 04 Leverkusen in Matchday 21 of the Bundesliga 2024-25 edition.

Wolfsburg after their average performances in 20 league games till now are sitting in the 10th spot with eight wins in hand. Bayer Leverkusen on the other hand are in the second spot as they are having a decently good season.

Wolfsburg have been winless in their last three league games. The hosts will be there after securing a draw against Eintracht Frankfurt in their last league game. They almost lost the game but thanks to Frankfurt’s Tuta who scored own goal which helped them secure a draw at least. A win for the hosts over Bayer Leverkusen will take them to the sixth spot in the table.

Xabi Alonso’s men are coming in after securing a narrow win over FC Cologne in their last fixture. It was a DFB-Pokal match. Bayer Leverkusen even secured a win in their previous league contest which was against Hoffenheim. Xabi Alonso’s men are going to be a big challenge for the Wolfsburg who are not having that great of a season.

Mohamed Amoura (Wolfsburg)
Having a total of 14 goal contributions in 18 league games for Wolfsburg, Mohamed Amoura is one of their most important players. He will have to step up and find some space in Bayer Leverkusen’s defence so that he can score a goal or two. The 24-year-old also can create chances for his teammates to score a goal. Amoura will be ready to give a proper fight to Xabi Alonso’s men.

Patrik Schick (Bayer Leverkusen)
The Czech Republic national football team forward plays a crucial role for Bayer Leverkusen. Patrik Schick has been able to score 14 goals in 17 league games for Bayern Munich and is in the race for the Bundesliga Golden Boot alongside Harry Kane. Xabi Alonso will make sure that he starts for the Bundesliga defending champions and lead them to another win.

Jeanuel Belocian, Martin Terrier, Amine Adli and Matija Marsenic will not be absent from the Bayer Leverkusen squad because of their injuries. Alejandro Grimaldo received a red card in the previous match and hence will be not included in the squad.

The hosts Wolfsburg will be without the services of seven of their squad members.
