Austria come into the match in second place in League B, Group Three

Austria are set to take on Kazakhstan on Thursday, 14 November as part of the penultimate round of Nations League group stage matches.

Austria come into the match in second place in League B, Group Three but with Slovenia and Norway on the same points as them, a win here is paramount if they want to finish in the top two.

Kazakhstan are rock bottom after picking just one point from four matches. They need a miracle to avoid relegation but a win here would at least take it to the final match on Sunday.

Austria are undefeated in three of their last four matches. Kazakhstan have failed to win any of their last eight matches (one draw, seven losses). Three of Austria’s four Nations League matches have produced more than two goals.

Kazakhstan are currently in terrible form, with League B seemingly possessing too much quality for them to handle.

They will benefit from the drop to League C but not before another humbling at the hands of Austria who have won their last two matches by a combined margin of eight goals.

Austria won the most recent clash between the two sides last month when they ran out as emphatic 4-0 winners in Vienna.

The clash in October was the first match between Austria and Kazakhstan since 2012. On that occasion, Austria once again won 4-0 so there are plenty of ominous signs for Kazakhstan coming into this one.
