Atlético Madrid will take only their third trip to the Czech Republic to face off against Sparta Prague.
Diego Simeone’s men come into this game on the back of five back-to-back wins across all competitions, including a 2-1 triumph over PSG in the Champions League.
The Red Whites will count upon their rich experience in the competition and their superior run of form against the Czech teams.
Sparta Praha on the other hand have been one of the most underperforming sides in the competition this season.
They started their campaign on the front foot with a win against RB Salzburg, but have failed to build upon their good start. The Maroons are winless in their last three outings in Europe, including two back-to-back defeats coming into this fixture.
The French international has been one of Atletico Madrid’s most influential players for quite some time now. In fact, Griezmann has established himself as one of the greatest players in the history of the club, thanks to his both on and off-the-field moves. The 33-year-old is known for his vision, ball distribution and creative abilities.
He can split defences into two halves and create goal-scoring chances for his teammates. Griezmann has five goals and six assists to his name this season.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two sides. Sparta Prague have lost all four of their previous UCL games against Spanish opponents. Atlético Madrid will play an away game in Czechia for the first time since 2012.
