Hellas Verona will host Gasperini’s Atalanta on Saturday afternoon in an interesting Serie A 2024-25 matchup. Both teams have been quite inconsistent in their last few fixtures and will look to improve to get more points.
Verona does have players who are capable of getting results for the team but the Orobics are too good and will surely be a tough challenge for the home team.
Verona have played 23 games, out of which seven games they have won, two draws and lost 24 games. Currently, with 23 points they are placed at the 13th spot in the points table and will have to get points or they will fall into the relegation zone.
Nerazzurri have dropped points back-to-back in two games as they did lose a good opportunity to close the gap between them and the table toppers. The Serie A title race is not yet over and a lot of games are still left and the Orobics will have a great opportunity to go high up in the table if they perform well in upcoming fixtures.
In 23 games, they have won 14 games, five ended in draws and they lost four games. They are still seven points behind Napoli and will look to put more pressure on them by winning the upcoming fixtures. This will be a mouthwatering clash for sure.
Marten de Roon (Atalanta)
One of Roon’s primary roles in the side is to drop into deeper positions when Atalanta has possession and facilitate attacks from these areas. Defensively, de Roon’s positioning abilities aid in halting counter-attacks when they arise.
The Dutchman is equally comfortable slotting between the right and central centre-halves. He likes to take risks with the ball but still does not lose ball possession quite often. He is great at winning the ball back and in doing that he does not make fouls as well. His performance will be important in the upcoming games. In 22 games, he has scored three goals and provided one assist.
For the home side, Casper Tengstedt is doubtful. Davide Faraoni, Martin Frese and Abdou Harroui all are sidelined due to injuries. The rest of the players are fit to play the upcoming match.
Atalanta has three players on the treatment table, Giorgio Scalvini, Ademola Lookman and Odilon Kossounou, all are sidelined due to injuries.
