Arsenal secured a 2-0 win at Aston Villa thanks to second-half goals from Leandro Trossard and Thomas Partey on Saturday.
It was a cagey affair at Villa Park and Ollie Watkins will be wondering how he missed two sitters in each half with the score at 0-0. Arsenal responded in clinical fashion with goals from substitute Trossard and Partey, to make it back-to-back victories in the Premier League.
Arsenal scored two goals in 10 minutes to beat Aston Villa 2-0 and make it two wins from two in the Premier League this season.
Substitute Leandro Trossard made Aston Villa rue their missed chances in the 68th minute when he was on hand to fire home past Emi Martinez just two minutes after entering the fray.
Thomas Partey made sure of all three points just 10 minutes later, receiving a Bukayo Saka pass on the edge of the penalty area before stroking home an effort into the bottom corner.
Villa beat Arsenal home and away last season in a campaign that saw the Gunners narrowly miss out on the Premier League title, but this afternoon Arsenal ensured that no such slip up would be repeated this time around.
