Aston Villa are still 4th in the Premier League standings with a seven-point advantage on Spurs

Aston Villa will continue their busy schedule with the home clash against Liverpool in the last game of Matchday No 37 on Monday evening. The Lions have lost the steam in the run-in. They got eliminated from the UEFA Conference League after conceding six goals in a double-header with Olympiakos Piraeus in the semi-final.

After a disappointing 2-4 loss in the first leg on the home patch, Villa were powerless in the reverse match against the Greeks. They fell 0-2 on Thursday evening in the port of Piraeus. It was the third straight defeats across competitions for Unai Emery and his troops. They are still 4th in the Premier League standings with a seven-point advantage on Spurs who have a game in hand.

Liverpool finally returned to winning ways after recent slip-ups. They dispatched Tottenham 4-2 in front of the home fans last Sunday. Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott were the main catalysts for the victory.

Aston Villa have not been pulling up any trees of late. Fatigue has obviously taken over their squad. The Lions are just not used to playing three times in a week on a regular basis at this stage of the season. Unai Emery has huge problems with the lack of defensive meticulousness in his ranks these days.

The fact that Olympiakos’ top scorer Ayoub El Kaabi scored five goals in two Conference League semi-final ties against Aston Villa speaks volumes. Liverpool have just put four goals past Spurs last weekend. They also won six of the previous seven matches against the Lions.

We will back the visitors to win in a goal fest. Liverpool’s win & Over 3.5 goals pick is priced up at the 3.00 odds.

Mohamed Salah finally delivered a strong display last Sunday against Spurs. The Egyptian King could have even more space to deliver in the final third here against the leaky and out-of-form Aston Villa side. We will back Salah to score anytime at the 1.90 odds.
