AS Roma have a good historical record in the Derby della Capitale and have won 74 out of the 199 matches played between the two teams

Claudio Ranieri and Marco Baroni are both expected to name their strongest possible line-ups when Roma and Lazio face off in the Derby della Capitale at the Stadio Olimpico in Serie A on Sunday evening.

Lazio are currently 15 points above Roma in the Serie A table, but the two teams have earned exactly the same number of points over their last five league matches (seven).

Ranieri is expected to stick with his three-at-the-back system for tonight’s match, as Gianluca Mancini, Mats Hummels and Evan Ndicka are expected to start at centre-back.

Manu Kone, Leandro Paredes and Nicolo Pisilli are all expected to start in midfield for the Giallorossi, while the attacking duties are likely to fall to Paulo Dybala and Artem Dovbyk.

Lazio, meanwhile, are expected to name a similar line-up to the team that drew 1-1 with Atalanta in their final game of 2024.

Gustav Isaksen is expected to return to the starting line-up, and is likely to be joined by Taty Castellanos and Mattia Zaccagni across the front three. Matteo Guendouzi, Nicolo Rovella and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru are expected to start in midfield.

Roma (3-5-2): Svilar; Mancini, Hummels, Ndicka; Saeleaekers, Kone, Paredes, Pisilli, Angelino; Dybala, Dovbyk.

Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Nuno Tavares; Guendouzi, Rovella, Dele Bashiru; Isaksen, Castellanos, Zaccagni.
