AC Milan return to Serie A action this evening as they take on Empoli at San Siro, and the pressure is on to secure another three points.
Paulo Fonseca’s side demonstrated that their vulnerability has not vanished in midweek against Slovan Bratislava, despite the fact that they were able to claim the victory.
They conceded twice and ended up narrow winners against a side that went into the game bottom with zero points, two goals scored and 15 conceded in the four games prior.
Milan vs. Empoli predicted line-ups
The pressure is on to not only win but to do so in a convincing fashion tonight, and La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) have provided some updates regarding the team Fonseca should pick.
The main news is in attack, where Alvaro Morata is expected to lead the line with Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic part of the trident behind him. Yunus Musah is currently down as the right winger, and he could play a key tactical role again.
Tijjani Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana are unsurprisingly down as the double pivot, while Emerson Royal, Matteo Gabbia, Malick Thiaw and Theo Hernandez should form the back four.
Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Emerson, Gabbia, Thiaw, Theo Hernandez; Fofana, Reijnders; Musah, Pulisic, Leao; Morata.
Empoli XI (3-4-2-1): Vasquez; Goglichidze, Ismajli, Viti; Gyasi, Henderson, Maleh, Pezzella; Colombo, Cacace; Pellegri.
