Gemany face France in the Nations League third and fourth place play-off. The German side has already achieved the best result for their country in this competition. Can the DFB team finish in third place? Here’s our match prediction
Germany are making their first appearance in the Nations League finals after they won Group A3 ahead of the Netherlands, Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A place in their first ever final looked on the cards when they took a second-half lead against Portugal. They kept that lead until the 63rd minute but then conceded two goals in five minutes. That loss ended a run of eight games without defeat. Over 2.5 goals have been scored in seven of their last nine internationals.
France are previous Nations League winners and made it into these finals after wining Group A2 finishing above Italy, Belgium and Israel. On Thursday, they lost their semi-final 5-4 against Spain.
They were 4-0 and 5-1 down in that match but failed to bring off an amazing comeback. That was a second defeat in their last three games after also losing the first leg of their quarter-final against Croatia in March.
Six of their last nine matches have had over 2.5 goals scored and we tip that stat to come up again here.
