FC Porto are all ready to host AS Roma in their upcoming UEFA Europa League 2024-25 playoffs phase first-leg contest.
The hosts ended their league phase campaign in the 18th spot with three wins in eight UEL matches. The visitors Roma finished in 15th place after the same amount of wins in the same amount of matches. The main difference in their standings was created because Porto lost three matches, whereas Roma fell only twice.
FC Porto will be confident at their home as they are coming in after a win in their previous Europa League fixture. Although it was a close win they managed to bag those three points.
Nico Gonzalez scored the match-winner for Porto in the second half. Going further they should work on their attack and their next UEL game is going to be a high-voltage clash when they meet Roma.
Serie A side AS Roma also secured a win in their last European competition fixture. It was an easy win for Roma as they managed to score a goal in the first half and then doubled the lead in the second half. They are a packed side and the fixture against Liga Portugal side FC Porta is not going to be very tough. It still depends on the form of players.
Samu Omorodion (FC Porto)
Hailing from Spain, Samu Omorodion is the top goal scorer for FC Porto across all competitions this season. He is surely going to play a crucial role for Porto upfront. The 20-year-old does know how to net goals. Samu Omorodion will need some help from his teammates to pull of another stunning performance. He has scored five goals for Porto in seven Europa League matches so far.
Paulo Dybala (AS Roma)
Even though the Argentine has not been much on the scoresheet for AS Roma this season, he still is a big threat to opponents while being on the field. Paulo Dybala will lead AS Roma’s attack from the front once again. He will surely be part of the starting XI due to his experience in the European competitions.
