Fenerbahce are all set to host Anderlecht in their upcoming 2024-25 playoffs stage first leg

Fenerbahce are all set to host Anderlecht in their upcoming UEFA Europa League 2024-25 playoffs stage first leg.

Jose Mourinho’s men barely made it to the playoffs stage of the UEL as they finished 24th in the league stage. They won only a couple of games out of eight matches during the league stage. Anderlecht on the other hand finished 10th after winning four games in the same amount of matches.

The home side were held to a draw in their last couple of Europa League games. In their last UEL game, Jose Mourinho’s men were doing fine and took the lead as well at the start of the second half. But they soon gave it away after conceding a goal from their opponents.

They will have to step up and have to come up with some aggressive football at home to gain an advantage over their opponents.

Anderlecht will be low on confidence. First of all, the coming UEL match is taking place away from their home and secondly, they fell prey to Hoffenheim in their last Europa League match. It was a close match but Anderlecht for the better of Hoffenheim. They came up with a good attack but because of a poor defence, they lost the match.

This will be the fifth meeting between Anderlecht and Fenerbahce in the UEFA Europa League. The home side have lost the first leg in four of their last six major European knockout ties. Anderlecht were undefeated in their first six UEL games this season but have lost their last two.

Fenerbahce will be without nine of their players due to their injuries for their upcoming Europa League clash.

Majeed Ashimeru, Jan Vertonghen and Samuel Edozie will not be in action for Anderlecht as they are injured.
