Argentina are one step away from reaching the final

Defending champions Argentina are one step away from reaching the finals of the Copa America 2024 and they cannot ask for a better opposition than Canada.

Argentina was dominant in the quarter-final clash against Ecuador, however they had to rue miss chances before the opposition bagged a late equalizer to send the game into penalty shootout.

There were some nerve-racking moments as Messi missed from the spot. However, Emiliano Martinez came to rescue once again, making two saves to keep the Albiceleste in the tournament.

Messi and co will be looking to emulate the group stage performances when they meet Canada once again in the tournament, having defeated them 2-0 on matchday 1.

This is a proud moment for Canada as they made full use of the chance to rub shoulders with big names in South America. They have been excellent since the matchday 1 defeat to World Champions, went on to defeat Peru and then hold Chile to a draw.

In the quarterfinals, Jesse Marsch’s men got the better of Venezuela, who had a 100%-win record in the competition. Canada are huge underdogs when they take the field against Argentina on Tuesday.
