Chelsea took over Brighton in 5th place of the Premier League standings after managing their third win in the last four league outings last weekend.
The Blues are only three points below Manchester City at the top of the standings. They demolished city rivals West Ham 3-0 on the road seven days ago.
Nicolas Jackson was the main catalyst for such a convincing victory. He fired two goals and delivered an assist for Cole Palmer’s beautiful strike on the occasion.

The visitors extended their unbeaten thread to five games in the Premier League with a 2-2 home draw to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
However, such a result did not make the team’s fans happy, especially since it came after a goalless stalemate to Ipswich Town, also at The Amex.
Chelsea will go into the tie in much higher spirits with a run of three wins and a draw in the previous four league fixtures.
They have also done very well in the H2H matches against Brighton in recent years. The Blues managed four wins in the last four clashes with the Seagulls.
On the other side, Brighton are most likely still going to be without the main attacking weapon Joao Pedro who did not start the last two games through injury.
