Kosovo lost 3-0 against Romania in the first match in the League of Nations.
“Dardans” had the first opportunity for a goal through Vedat Muriqi in the ninth minute, who headed over the goal of the visiting goalkeeper Nita.
In the 20th minute, Fisnik Asllani fell inside the area after a contact with the Romanian defender, but the referee decided to continue the match.
Another chance for a goal for Kosovo came in the 31st minute when Milot Rashica made a powerful shot which was saved by the Romanian goalkeeper.
The Romanians on the other hand had a good scoring opportunity through Dragus in the 35th minute, but thankfully his header was easily saved by Aro Muric.
Just when it was least expected, Romania managed to take a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute through Dennis Man.
Valentin Mihaila was very close to doubling the visitors’ lead, but his shot in the 44th minute was blocked by the post.
In the second half, the guests managed to score on two more occasions to get three points and the first place in the group.
Initially, they scored through Razvan Marin in the 51st minute, who was accurate from the penalty spot for 2-0, while the final goal was scored by Denis Dragus in the 81st minute after the ball was returned from a save by Muric.
A few minutes before the end of the match, Mergim Vojvoda was sent off with a red card after receiving a second yellow card.
“Dardans” will aim to return to positive results on Monday, when they will play on the road against Cyprus.
